The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is the primary law enforcement agency within New York City, the capital of the American Reich.
History[]
One of the formerly oldest law enforcement agencies in the pre-World War II United States, the NYPD was founded as a small Municipal Police force in 1845, before expanding to become a Metropolitan Police force by 1857.
After the United States and its allies lost World War II and were subsequently invaded, occupied and absorbed into the Greater Nazi Reich in the form of the American Reich, the NYPD was presumably absorbed into the new policing and law enforcement structure under Nazi leadership in New York City. The agency's large size and presence in what would become the new regional capital was likely the reason it was able to retain many levels of its pre-war appearance, with NYPD officers' uniforms remaining remarkably similar (apart from the addition of Nazi armbands and swastikas to the badges).
Organisation[]
As of 1962 it appears to act as a form of the Ordnungspolizei, the uniformed local police force responsible for maintaining order and enforcing non-political laws within Nazi America. Although the much larger and formidable Schutzstaffel maintains a significantly larger presence within the city, members of the NYPD are seen liaising with the SS during both investigations, the tracking and arrest of low level criminals and members of the Resistance, and maintaining order during ceremonies.
