Studying quadratic equations, to which Jennifer doesn't understand, Henry asks why she hadn't learnt it in her school in Chicago. She quickly makes an excuse to which she "missed a lot of class". A couple seconds afterward, Henry says "I missed you" which makes Jennifer smile and open up and say she hadn't actually been in Chicago. And (with help of a question from Henry about being outside the Reich, since she hadn't known about the armbands)

She quickly diverts the conversation, talking about the students snitching/ratting on their parents. Henry replies with an ambiguous answer stating that "Some, yeah. Most of us kind of pretend to go along with it though." Both agreeing they dislike the act. Soon enough, Jennifer pulls a record from her bag, saying to Henry, "This is where I was." Before putting on Slim Harpo "I'm a King Bee". Henry begins to act confused not knowing what the music was. Stating the singer sounds different to what would normally be sung in the Reich.

Jennifer then asks Henry to dance with her, he says yes. They begin to dance, to be interrupted by Amy Smith later on. Turning off the music and stealing the disc. Saying "I'm telling!" and running off and locking herself in her room, being followed in pursuit by Jennifer. Taking hostage, the record. Henry panics, begins to shuffle his stuff into a pile and attempting to leave (tripping on the way) before leaving the elevator is opened to see John Smith walk out. She claps back stating an earlier lab report, where they compared the intelligence of races by filling skulls with bird seeds. Noting another student named "Howie Phipps" her head is less the size yet he, "And he's dumb as a bag of cement." Henry responds by saying he only wants to pass Eugenics and not think about it again. To which she apologises seeing he only wants to get good marks and she wasn't helping.

She then goes onto recommend a better study partner. Named "Gretchen" who supposedly won an award for "Most Aryan Girl", Henry thinks about it for a second but then replies with "she bores me, you don't." Adding on, "Everything's better when you're around." Seizing the opportunity to kiss Jennifer as their escort looks away. Quickly moving on and talking about "Gerhardt's" a clothing brand that her mother, Helen, was taking her to prepare for her winter wardrobe.

Stating she's gone back to being the perfect Reich wife. Stating that the only reason she went on the cooking show (on television earlier that day) was just an act. That even though they're top of the Nazi Party they are dying inside. Almost shouting about how her mother promised to go back to the Neutral Zone one day. Henry quickly acts and tells her to keep her voice low.

While all this happens, resistance member Raunchy Ritchie has tapped into their conversation with a listening device hidden in a newspaper in the trash can. Before heading back to a van located just outside, and reporting back with the tapes already in play.
