Crown Prince Akihito of Japan is the son of Emperor Hirohito and next in line for the throne of the Japanese Empire.
History[]
Season One[]
The Crown Prince and Princess visited the Japanese Pacific States. After a meeting with Nazi Officials at the German Embassy the Crown Prince gave a speech to a large crowd in San Francisco . Shortly into his speech the Crown Prince was shot. He was rushed to the hospital where emergency surgery was performed.
The Crown Prince survived and returned to Japan.

- The name "Akihito" means "bright" (明) ("aki") and "compassionate" (仁) ("hito").
- In our timeline, Akihito was the emperor of Japan at the time of filming. He succeeded to the throne upon the death of his father Hirohito (Emperor Shōwa) on 7 January 1989, and was succeeded by his son, Naruhito, on 30 April 2019.
- As the wife of Akihito, Michiko Shōda was the Empress consort of Japan from 1989 to 2019. Both were enthroned on 12 November 1990.
- In the alternate timeline which is real life the Japanese government announced in December 2017 that Akihito would abdicate on 30 April 2019. He was succeeded by Naruhito, born 23 February 1960.
